Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we get most about Vettex gear — sizing, NCAA legality, washing, returns, and how each product is built. If you don't see your question here, email us at support@vettexsports.com and we'll get back to you the same day.

Vettex Grip Sleeve

Is the Vettex Grip Sleeve NCAA and NFHS legal?

Yes. The Vettex Grip Sleeve is fully legal at the high school (NFHS), college (NCAA), and pro level. It received the first-ever NCAA and NFHS approval for a grip-enhancing wearable. Receivers, defensive backs, and running backs at 40+ FBS programs wear it on the field every Saturday. No special equipment approval is required — put it on and play.

What size Grip Sleeve should I order?

The Grip Sleeve comes in 7 sizes: Youth S (ages 6–9), Youth M (9–12), Youth L (12–14), Adult XS, Adult S/M (most adult skill players), Adult L/XL (linemen and larger skill players), and Adult 2X/3X. The sleeve should be snug enough to stay in place during play but never restrictive. If you're between sizes, go up.

How is the Vettex Grip Sleeve different from a regular compression sleeve?

Standard compression sleeves are smooth polyester — slick when the ball makes contact with your forearm. The Vettex uses a patented grip-enhancing textile (U.S. Patent No. 11,957,549) that creates controlled friction between the sleeve and the football. The grip is woven into the fabric itself, not a coating that wears off. No other sleeve on the market does this.

How do I wash the Grip Sleeve?

Machine wash cold with like colors, no fabric softener, no bleach. Lay flat or hang to dry — do not put it in the dryer. The grip technology is structural to the fabric, so washing does not degrade it. Most players replace their sleeve at the start of each new season as part of normal gear refresh, not because the grip wears out.

Does it work in cold or wet weather?

Yes — the grip property comes from the textile structure, not a tacky coating, so it doesn't get glassy in cold weather or slick when wet. This is a meaningful advantage over silicone-palm gloves or sticky tape products in late-season games.

Vettex DoubleGuard Mouthguard

Is the DoubleGuard NCAA and NFHS legal?

Yes. The Vettex DoubleGuard is NCAA and NFHS certified for play at every amateur level. It's worn from youth football through the professional level.

Does it work with braces?

Yes — and this is one of its key advantages. Standard boil-and-bite mouthguards use heat molding that can damage brackets and wires. The DoubleGuard is explicitly braces-compatible, no molding required. It provides a comfortable fit straight out of the package, which makes it the right choice for middle school and early high school players still in orthodontic hardware.

What sizes does the DoubleGuard come in, and how do I choose?

Two sizes: Youth (typically ages 5–12, through middle school) and Adult (high school through professional). If a player is 12–14 and on the larger side, try Adult sizing first — it will fit better than forcing Youth sizing. The DoubleGuard is available in 20+ colors so you can match team colors exactly.

How often should I replace my mouthguard?

Replace every season at minimum, or sooner if you see signs of wear — thinning, cracking, or loss of shape. A compressed or damaged mouthguard doesn't absorb impact the way a fresh one does. At $16.99 with multi-pack discounts, this is not the place to cut corners.

Baseball — Bat Training Weights, Grips, and Sleeves

What's the difference between the Varo Arc and Varo Cor bat training weights?

The Arc is built for hitters chasing bat speed and swing efficiency — its shape distributes weight to emphasize rotational mechanics. The Cor is built for hitters focused on raw power and exit velocity. Both clamp directly onto your game bat, so you train on your own handle and balance point with the load in the right place. For most hitters, the Arc is the right starting point. Power hitters who already have bat speed dialed in often add the Cor as a second tool. Our full Arc vs. Cor guide walks through the choice.

Are bat training weights safe for youth players?

Bat training weights are most effective for hitters from high school through college and pro levels. Youth players (12 and under) should focus on swing mechanics and consistent contact before adding overload resistance — training under load too early can reinforce poor mechanics.

Will the Vettex x Varo Silicone Bat Grip work on my wood bat?

Yes — the Silicone Bat Grip works on wood, metal, and composite bats. One roll wraps up to four standard bats. It's tacky in any condition (sweat, cold, wet), vibration-dampening, and engineered to last a full season without breaking down. Available in 8 color options.

Do baseball arm sleeves actually help?

Yes. Compression sleeves keep your arm warm between at-bats, improve circulation and recovery, protect against turf burn, and block UV on day games. The Vettex Dry Sleeve is engineered specifically for baseball — lightweight, moisture-wicking, and built to stay in place through a full game. See our full breakdown of arm sleeve benefits for the complete answer.

Vettex Elite Batting Gloves

What sizes do the Elite Batting Gloves come in?

Youth Small through Adult XL. The fit is intentionally close — for batting gloves, snug is correct so there's no slack between your hand and the bat handle. If you're between sizes, go down rather than up.

Are they real Cabretta leather?

Yes — premium Cabretta leather palm. Cabretta is the gold standard for batting gloves because it's softer, more natural, and more connected in the hands than synthetic palms. The leather is paired with a short-cuff design and lightweight construction so the glove doesn't get in the way of the swing.
